Mission

At Spirit of Peace, service is at the heart of who we are. The Mission Team leads our congregation in living out Christ’s call to love our neighbors—through both hands-on service and financial support for local and global partners.
What began as simple acts of hospitality—Wednesday night taco treats and Sunday Suppers—has grown into a vibrant ministry supported by the congregation’s long-standing pledge of 5% of budget for mission work each year. Over time, the team has expanded its focus to include both service and sustained support for organizations making a difference in our community and beyond.
Today, the Mission Team is organized around key projects, each with its own coordinator and opportunities for involvement:
Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank

  • Sunday Suppers served at Issaquah Community Center every third Sunday
  • The Garage Teen Center
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches for Seattle Homeless Outreach
  • Beloved Arise

The team meets every other month (both in person and on Zoom) to share progress, celebrate stories, and plan upcoming efforts. Through this collaborative structure, the Mission Team continues to deepen its vitality—and invites everyone at Spirit of Peace to join in this work of compassion, generosity, and hope.
